It's hard to pin point where Matt's fascination with the water began. Maybe sailing on the sunfish he owned as a child, in his canoe or on his surfboard as a teen, or working on the docks at a marina on the Intracoastal Waterway in Wilmington, North Carolina in high school. He credits the solidifying of his Maritime Career in the Navy, at 18, when he lived on the water, from Texas to Bahrain, to San Diego and back. After serving in the US Navy, Matthew enrolled in school, and received his Commercial Dive Certification, with Concentrations in Hyberbaric Chamber Treatments, Hard Hat Diving and Advanced Rigging at National Polytechnic College of Oceaneering in San Diego. In 2008, he came aboard the team at Under Boats, and took the reigns in 2009. Matt enjoys all aspects of the job, but particularly enjoys the raising of sunken vessels, and has enjoyed "the expansion of Under Boats' Salvage Operations"
Gloria Williams joined the Under Boats Team in 2009, as Director of Business Development. Her love of the water, affinity for small and local business, and enjoyment of interfacing with fun loving people, have come together in a perfect blend at Under Boats. "Under Boats places customer service and reputation, at the forefront of all goals. It is always about the customer, and it is always about the relationship." She is a graduate of Appalachian State University, and her love of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is only trumped by her enchantment with the sea.
